The Last Image is een serie analoge en digitale tentoonstellingen van het Nederlands Uitvaart Museum Tot Zover over de driehoeksverhouding tussen de dood, de camera en de toeschouwer

Deze interactieve tentoonstelling en groeiend digitale archief over het laatste beeld is een verkenning van de dood door het oog van de lens. Iedereen kan een laatste beeld toevoegen. Welk verhaal vertelt een laatste registratie van iemand die sterft? Welke extra dimensie heeft een laatste opname van iemand die is overleden? Welke rol speelt het internet in de verspreiding van de openbare dood, het sterven voor een publiek?

Deze digitale tentoonstelling maakt deel uit van een driedelige serie. De twee andere tentoonstellingen zijn te zien in het museum bij begraafplaats De Nieuwe Ooster: The Pixelated Revolution van Rabih Mroué (vanaf december 2013) en de fototentoonstelling Post Mortem (vanaf juni 2014).

The Last Image is a series of analogue and digital exhibitions presented by the Dutch funeral museum Tot Zover (So Far) about the triangular relationship between death, the camera and the spectator.

This interactive exhibition – and growing digital archive – of last images is an exploration of death through the eye of the camera. Anyone can add a last image to the archive. What story does a final record of a dying person tell? What extra dimension does a last photo of a dead person have? What role does the Internet play in the spread of public death, of dying with an audience?

This digital exhibition is one of a three-part series. The other two exhibitions are shown in the museum, near the De Nieuwe Ooster cemetery: The Pixelated Revolution by Rabih Mroué [from December 2013) and the photo exhibition Post Mortem (starting in June 2014).
